It were confusing.

My family has a lot of, well...um, normal phrases that would seem inappropriate to others, but are just common usage to us.Amanderpandererhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13071874146984312607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22156824.post-60731308330993319812007-06-10T23:35:00.000-04:002007-06-10T23:35:00.000-04:00And "I don't care to.." meaning "I don't mind..." ...And "I don't care to.." meaning "I don't mind..." People "fit" instead of fought and we had "ham meat" biscuits instead of plain old ham biscuits. I know there were more, but those are the ones that stuck with me. Oh, and don't forget "ataway" as in he went that way. By the way, what about the word "toboggan." That word for me meant first "a winter hat," and second a "sled." Once Tyler used that word in Charlottesville and people thought he was crazy. The only people I have ever met who use the word toboggan for a hat are from SWVA.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22156824.post-7720773527895635952007-06-08T10:34:00.000-04:002007-06-08T10:34:00.000-04:00Here are a few more:Baccer----TobaccoHave a mind t...Here are a few more:

Baccer----Tobacco

Have a mind to----Intend to (do something)

Idy----Idea

Poke----Paper Bag

Reckon----Think

Sody Dope----Coca-cola, Soda, Pop

Tradin'----ShoppingJeremy Petershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14105906795034172230noreply@blogger.com
