Sights While Hiking

An old forgotten cemetery.

A view from Mt Cammerer after a storm.

Ramsey Cascades.

The famous Fall Creek Falls.

I love those old cemeteries. Often the ones in the mountains have clusters of tiny graves, a testimony to how difficult it was then to make it through childhood.

That cemetery is in the middle of nowhere. A forest service road is nearby, but not much else. A friend of mine has a GPS and he downloaded some hiking points and that's how we found it. It's tough to tell from the picture, but there are a few modern looking stones there. I have a close up of one stone and the date of death was April 5, 1935. He was three years old.

I know this place. We used to call it little stoney or something like that. It is outside of Coeburn VA...

I don't have my hiking map handy, but I'm pretty sure the cemetery is not too far from Hot Springs, NC.
